Every song needs a hip-hop influence. Take out the vocals, and the general crappyness that goes with them, and you have good music.

Dashing Lime Spirals

"WOO!"

date: February 25, 2008

FL studio! Woo, I remember my days obsessed with the rave lead instrument. Now i hate it, but whatever. My only problem with your song is the choppyness of the melody you used in the middle. Hold notes a little longer please. Other than that, you are pretty good at writing melodies. Keep it up. Check out my work. I am so lonely.

I dont quite understand why this has a score of .32, were you voting 0 on your own stuff? Its a bit repetitive and i don't think there is enough melody although what is there is quite good.

Remix of Techno

"Lol, that was wack."

submission: Remix of Techno

I have nothing against the idea of a remix, but you connect completely unrelated songs together, and it sounds like I'm listening to all the spliced bits at like 12 kbs. Also I didn't hear anything particularly original or good. Make your own stuff, be a trooper.

Grey Skies

"Generic good Review"

submission: Grey Skies

Its definitely one of the best trance songs I've heard in a long time. You did a great job with the high synth lines. They really made the song. I didn't really like the bass line, but i can see where someone could. The last 40 or 50 seconds were really the best just by the way the song kind of exploded musically.

Speech of the violen

"Nice first song"

date: July 23, 2007

This was pretty good for your first song on Newgrounds, a lot better than mine. Everything kind of textured well, and I liked the sombre feel of the main melody over the more upbeat background. The only real suggestion I have is that for how light the lead violin sounding instrument sounded, it was mixed too quiet in contrast to the background music.

Keep up the good work.

Hardgabbjump?

"To add on to the guy below me..."

submission: Hardgabbjump?

I liked the bouncy feel to the song along with the very trance feel of the bass line. To add on the guy below me, I have a tip for you while writing your own melodies.

Something I like to do while writing melodies in FL7 (I'm sure it works in other programs too) to keep a steady style without getting repetitive is that I copy and paste the melodies into a new line then tweak them a bit.

Usually I change about a fourth of the note lengths and placement and about half of the note pitches in each new line from the last one. This works best if you have set chord changes, but like I said, it keeps the style and main idea of the first melody.

I did exactly that in my newest song, which it would be nice if we traded reviews. I would really like that. I'm so lonely.

Other than that,
Good job, keep it up.

Pipe Organ's Revenge

"Something new for the masses"

date: July 23, 2007

Musically, the song was pretty sweet, I just don't think the world is ready for a song like this. The mixing was a little off and the instrumentation was... different. I did liked the melody though. The middle section was a little obnoxious, which I'm sure was sort of the point. I would like to see what this song would sound like that with more than the synthed organ and hits. You know, something a little longer.

Don't get me wrong, I liked this song enough to download it, which many people can't say. Keep up the good work.

Author's Response:

I agree about the middle part. I seemed like a good idea at the time, but now, listening to it makes me think;

"...why did I put that there again?"

And I plan on making a remixed-ish version of the song, which I hope will be longer.

Thanks for the review/listening

"great melody"

date: July 19, 2007

Oh man, the opening melody was incredible, You really should have stretched that out a bit. I grew up on classical music, so I'm used to the whole developing melody thing and I'm not a fan of "dirty" techno. I think if you did that instead of putting the whole middle section, or at least played the first melody over it, this would be a great song.
